Close Friend

"Close Friend (Close Enemy)" is a song about one of my best friends who kept looking for trust in the wrong people. It can be very difficult to stand by and watch someone you care about hurt themselves and friends around them over a girlfriend.

The music is strongly influenced by guitar styles of Thin Lizzy as well as Coheed and Cambria. My favorite Coheed album is Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Volume 1. The bridge of this song was definitely inspired by songs off that album.

Where there's smokes there's a fire
Made up of my burnt out desire
You're getting lost in the Angel abyss

You play with fire, you wet the bed
You're tired now, rest when you're dead
You're getting lost in nothing you'll miss

You're getting lost in another kiss
You're getting lost in nothing you'll miss!

She's a close friend, close enemy
A friend who bleeds, is a friend indeed
"You'll never know what's good for me"

Well listen up friend! If you don't listen to me
A friend who bleeds can turn to enemy
"You'll never know what's good for me"

None of this matters!
None of this matters!

5-piece rock band from Birmingham, AL. Their style of music is heavily based in punk rock, but due to a college education in music, it’s not surprising for songs to get a little complicated while staying under the 3 miin mark.
